Common Domain Name Rules

PD Hosting provides 2nd Level Domain Registration, under .NL.

Domain Theft Protection feature is not supported for .NL Domain Names.

NL Domain Name Registration

A .NL Domain Name may be Registered for only 1 year.

A .NL Domain Name does not have a Money Back Grace Period.

.NL Domain Names do not support Internationalized Domain Names (IDN).

How do I register a NL domain name?

Simply use our Domain Search tool to check the availability of your .nl domain (NL Domain name registration), add the domain name to your cart and start the checkout process. Pop in a few details and you’re done – your .nl domain will be registered within seconds.

NL Domain Name Renewal

A .NL Domain Name may be Renewed for only 1 year.

You can not Renew your .NL domain name until 60 days prior to it’s Expiry.

There is no Renewal Grace Period for a .NL domain name. It would be deleted upon Expiry and placed under Redemption Grace Period for 40 days.

Moreover, the Pending Delete period (5 day period after Redemption Grace Period) is not applicable to a .NL domain name. The domain name will be available for fresh Registration after 40 days from the date of Deletion.

NL Domain Name Transfer

Upon Transferring a .NL Domain Name, the Registration term gets extended by 1 year w.r.t. the date of Transfer.

The 60 day Registration/Transfer Lock is not applicable in case of .NL Domain Names.

All .NL Domain Names have a Domain (Transfer) Secret Key/Authorization Code.

The length of a Domain (Transfer) Secret Key/Authorization Code is 12 characters.

Contact Details related Rules

.NL Domain Names use the .NL Contact Contact database in the system.

.NL Domain Names use the following 3 Contacts:
– Registrant Contact
– Administrative Contact
– Technical Contact

There is no Billing Contact for a .NL domain name.

For a .NL domain name, you can not modify the Registrant Contact’s Name, Company Name or Legal Form. If you wish to modify the Registrant Contact Details of your .NL domain name, you need to instead create a new Contact and assign it as the Registrant Contact.

.NL Domain Names support PDHosting’s Privacy Protection feature.

Name Servers and Child Name Servers related Rules

Each .NL Domain Name needs to have at least 2 Name Servers and may have up-to 13 Name Servers.

You may add any number of Child Name Servers for a .NL Domain Name.

You may associate up-to 10 IP Addresses per Child Name Server.

The same IP Address cannot be associated with multiple Child Name Servers.

Modification of the Hostname of a Child Name Server under a .NL domain name is not allowed.

You may modify both Name Servers as well as any Child Name Servers associated with your .NL Domain Name.
