Transfer your domain to PD Hosting
Move your domains to a UK Nominet accredited registrar. Transfers of .uk, .co.uk and .me.uk are free, and your website and email keep running exactly as they are — a transfer changes who manages the name, not where it points.
Our IPS tag is PDHOSTING. All prices exclude VAT.
What you get when you transfer
The same DNS tools and support you get on a new registration, applied to the names you already own.
Free .uk transfers
No transfer fee on .uk, .co.uk or .me.uk. Your current registrar simply points the IPS tag at PDHOSTING.
Nothing goes offline
Your DNS records are untouched, so your website, email and any subdomains keep working throughout.
One account, one login
Domains, hosting and renewals in the same place, so you stop chasing renewal dates across providers.
DNS tools included
Full DNS management, DNS backup and restore, and free mail forwarding at no extra cost.
Transferring a .uk, .co.uk or .me.uk domain
Nominet domains move on an IPS tag change, so there is no authorisation code and no waiting period.
- Order the transfer in your client area. There is nothing to pay for .uk, .co.uk or .me.uk.
- Ask your current registrar to change the IPS tag on the domain to PDHOSTING. Most control panels have this under the domain’s settings as “transfer out” or “change tag”.
- Done. The domain appears in your PD Hosting account, usually within minutes of the tag changing. Your expiry date carries over unchanged.
Transferring .com, .net and other extensions
Generic extensions use the registry’s authorisation code process, which takes a few days and adds a year to your registration.
- Unlock the domain at your current registrar and ask them for the authorisation code — also called an EPP or auth code.
- Order the transfer here and enter that code when prompted.
- Approve the confirmation email sent to the registrant address on the domain.
- The transfer completes in around five to seven days and adds a year to your registration on top of the time you already have.
Transfer questions
If your question is not here, open a ticket and we will walk you through it.
No. A transfer moves who manages the domain, not where it points. Your DNS records stay exactly as they are, so nothing your visitors or your mail see changes.
.uk, .co.uk and .me.uk usually complete within minutes of the IPS tag being changed. Other extensions take around five to seven days because of the registry confirmation step.
Transfers of .uk, .co.uk and .me.uk are free. For other extensions the transfer includes a one-year extension, charged at that extension’s renewal price.
Not immediately for .com and other generic extensions: registry rules block a transfer in the first 60 days after registration or after a previous transfer. .uk domains have no such restriction.
In your current registrar’s control panel, usually under the domain’s settings. If you cannot find it, their support team can send it to the registrant email address on the domain.
No. For .uk the existing expiry date carries over untouched. For other extensions the transfer adds a year on top of the time you already have.
