How to add DNS and website confirmation checks to PD Onboard in Blesta
PD Onboard turns the information needed after a Blesta order into a customer checklist. A confirmation can help customers check a domain-related task, but completion must be interpreted carefully. Live checks require Pro and use the domain associated with the onboarding run.
Configure the confirmation
- Open the checklist and add Something to confirm.
- Enter What are you asking for and Guidance.
- Under Verify it for real, choose the nameserver, address or website check, or choose No check — take their word for it.
- Review What it should be where applicable. Check prefilled nameservers rather than accepting them without review.
- Review Requirement, add the step and check the intended domain-associated workflow with controlled data.
Interpret the result
A passing result allows completion. An explicit failed result asks the customer to correct the issue. An unavailable or inconclusive check is accepted as a confirmation, so a completed step is not necessarily a verified result. Without Pro, the confirmation takes the customer’s word instead of running the live check.
The nameserver check accepts a matching entry; it does not prove that the entire delegation set is an exact match. The address check examines IPv4 A records, not IPv6 records. The website check accepts a responding web address and is not a certificate-trust, ownership or security assessment. A successful response does not prove that the expected page content is present.
Resolve uncertainty
A manually started customer-level run has no selected service domain. Missing DNS data or an unavailable website can also produce an inconclusive result. Review the domain and actual result before relying on completion for a handover. Do not use the completion badge as independent verification evidence.
