How to choose when PD Onboard starts automatically in Blesta

PD Onboard turns the information needed after a Blesta order into a customer checklist. Choose whether to collect information after activation or as soon as an order is placed. Starting before payment can be useful for a project brief, but should be an intentional choice.

Review automatic starting

  1. Open PD Modules → Onboarding → Settings.
  2. Review Start onboarding automatically on a new order. Turn it off if staff should start each onboarding by hand.
  3. Under Start it when the order is, choose Activated (recommended) or Placed, before payment.
  4. Save and check that an active, non-empty checklist matches the intended packages or package groups.

Placed, before payment is tied to the order-placement workflow and can request information before payment clears. Activated is tied to service activation and accepted-order handling. Do not treat the setting as a separate proof of payment or a guarantee that every external resource is ready.

On Blesta, this uses the Order plugin order events and the platform service events. A staff-created service without the relevant order flow is different from an Order plugin order.

Verify the intended route

Use an authorised controlled workflow and inspect In progress for the selected customer and checklist. Do not place a real order merely to inspect settings. Turning automatic starting on does not backfill all older services; manual start is available for an existing customer.

If nothing starts, check the checklist’s active state, matching targets, step count, selected timing and the actual order/service event. Avoid repeatedly starting another run before checking whether one already exists for the service.
