How to cancel a pending SMS Manager campaign in WHMCS
Use the campaign’s Cancel action when you want to stop pending PD SMS Manager campaign work. Cancellation does not recall an SMS that the provider already accepted or promise that a message currently being processed cannot finish.
Identify the original campaign
Open PD Modules → SMS Manager → SMS Campaigns. Check the name, status, progress and intended audience. Use View to inspect its message, recipient total, Sent, Failed and Scheduled values. Confirm you have the intended campaign rather than a similarly named rehearsal or an earlier run.
An SMS campaign can be Scheduled or Running while work remains. Review the original campaign before creating a replacement: relaunching the same message is a new send, not a way to refresh the old campaign’s display.
Cancel pending work
- Return to the campaign list.
- Choose Cancel on the intended active campaign.
- Read and confirm the cancellation prompt.
- Refresh the campaign state and review History for attempts already made.
The cancellation action removes that campaign’s pending queued messages. Messages already handed to the provider cannot be recalled. Work already claimed for processing can still complete, so review subsequent results rather than assuming the confirmation establishes a precise last-send time.
Keep the evidence
Delete is a separate action that removes the campaign record. It is not needed merely to stop pending messages. Keep the campaign and related history while investigating an error or unexpected audience; deleting the record can make that investigation harder.
Keep the original campaign and History while your hosting team compares the cancellation time with attempts already processing or accepted by the selected provider. Do not clear queue records or relaunch a corrected campaign to diagnose uncertain progress so your customers are not inadvertently texted twice.
For a future campaign, rehearse with an explicitly selected Test / Debug Log only gateway and a controlled audience. Check the audience, template and routing before launch rather than relying on cancellation as a substitute for that review.
