How to add a website and keyword monitor in WHMCS
An HTTP response alone may not tell you whether the expected website loaded. Add a PD Uptime & Status website monitor in WHMCS and require a recognisable phrase to help catch a parked page, an error screen or unexpected replacement content.
Prepare the address and expected content
Choose a website you administer and a short, consistent phrase present in the response sent to the monitoring server. This is a direct HTTP check, not a browser executing page scripts. Text added only by JavaScript after the page loads may not appear in the checked response.
Check whether the website already has a monitor. The add form creates a new monitor; it does not edit an existing one or preserve an old monitor’s history as a replacement. Keep the existing history when deciding how to change monitoring.
Add the monitor
- Open PD Modules → Uptime → Monitors → Add a monitor.
- Enter What is it, the label used in alerts.
- Choose the website option under What to check.
- Enter Address, including the intended HTTP or HTTPS scheme. HTTPS is assumed if omitted.
- Enter the exact phrase in The page must contain, or leave it blank for no content requirement.
- Choose Whose service is it only when the intended customer should be linked to this monitor, then press Add monitor.
Keyword matching is case-sensitive. It checks the returned page text, so a phrase appearing elsewhere in the response may satisfy it; this is not a complete application or transaction test.
Check the first result
Review Checked, state and the reason under Address after a scheduled round or Check everything now. In Settings, review Follow redirects and Seconds to wait for an answer. A challenge page, authentication prompt, HTTP error or TLS connection problem can explain why the monitor and your own browser differ. Check the actual recorded reason before changing the target website.
