How to configure PD Uptime email and recovery alerts in WHMCS
Send your team an alert when a PD Uptime & Status monitor changes to confirmed Down, and optionally when it recovers. These are transition notifications in WHMCS, not a repeated reminder for every unsuccessful check during one outage.
Choose the recipients
- Open PD Modules → Uptime → Settings.
- Enter the intended comma-separated addresses in Who to alert.
- Review Also tell me when it comes back for recovery notifications.
- Save the settings and check that the addresses were entered correctly.
If there are no usable configured email addresses, the module falls back to the platform’s configured sender/system email address when valid. Confirm where that fallback reaches your team rather than assuming a blank field means nobody receives alerts.
Understand what triggers a message
A Down alert follows the configured number of failed checks. An optional recovery alert follows a successful check after a confirmed Down state. A first successful check on a new monitor is not a recovery notification.
Check Monitors and Incidents alongside Failed checks before it counts as down, pause state and checking eligibility. Inconclusive checks do not create a down transition. An unchanged Down state does not generate another message just because you choose Check everything now.
Investigate a missing alert
Review the exact transition time, valid recipient addresses, normal WHMCS mail delivery and Also tell me when it comes back. Activity can record an accepted email send; that is not proof of inbox delivery or that someone read it.
A failed send is not automatically retried on each later unchanged check, so verify the monitoring event and delivery path before expecting another alert. Do not deliberately break a live service just to produce a test notification.
Pro webhook alerts are additional to email. The recovery switch controls the recovery alert path, including its webhook, so disabling it affects more than just the email copy.
