How to read PD Uptime failures, incidents and uptime history in WHMCS

Use PD Uptime & Status to distinguish an observed check failure from a confirmed incident in WHMCS. The monitor records what the checking server could reach; an incident groups a confirmed down period and its later recovery.

Follow the state changes

Open PD Modules → Uptime → Monitors. A new monitor starts without a completed result. A failed conclusive check increases its failure count; the monitor becomes Down when it reaches Failed checks before it counts as down. The default threshold is two.

A first failure can therefore appear as failing before a down incident is confirmed. One later successful check resets the failures, marks the monitor Up and closes an open incident. That means the next successful check, not an instantaneous detection of the moment the website recovered.

Read the reason and incident

  1. Check the reason below the monitor’s Address and its Checked time.
  2. Open Incidents and find the relevant monitor and start time.
  3. Check whether the incident is ongoing or has a resolution time and duration.
  4. Compare the check interval, confirmation threshold and actual target behaviour before changing monitoring settings.

Incidents displays the latest 200 incident records. It is not an unbounded export of every historic interruption.

Interpret inconclusive and percentage results

Some missing local checking capabilities produce an inconclusive result. That updates the latest-check information without adding a target-failure sample or triggering a down transition. It does not prove the target is healthy. DNS failures, timeouts, connection failures or an HTTP error can still be conclusive failures, including when the monitoring server’s own route caused the problem.

Uptime 30d is the proportion of recorded successful checks in that window, not a measurement of every second of service. No samples means no percentage; a new monitor can have a percentage based on very little history. Check timestamps and sample coverage alongside the headline figure. Check history is pruned over time, so keep your own appropriate incident records outside this recent-history view when needed.
