Prepare and hand over a service password in WHMCS with PD Password Manager
Use Reset & hand off when the credential belongs to a particular client’s service. Keep the password change, link creation and email outcomes separate when checking success.
Select the client and service
- Open PD Password Manager → Reset & hand off.
- Select Client, then choose Find services.
- Select the intended Service and check its account/domain.
- Enter New password, or use Generate and retain the intended value.
- Set Deliver via and Link expires after (hours). With Pro, add a public-link Passphrase when required.
- Select Email it to the client only if you intend to send the resulting link by email.
Apply the service change
For a service whose server module supports changing passwords, select Apply on the server now only when you intend the live password to change. Leave it off if you are only preparing delivery; that does not change the server password.
Choose Reset & create secure link after reviewing the service, password and delivery controls. Check the result for Password changed on the server before treating this as an applied reset. A server module’s rejection is not a successful password change.
Recover from a partial result
A completed server change is not rolled back if later link creation fails. Check the actual service outcome before retrying; do not unintentionally reset the password twice.
If a link was created but email failed, copy the existing link from the result and arrange delivery through your intended channel. A failed email does not mean that no link exists. This workflow uses one reveal per link even when Pro is active. Do not open it yourself merely to check it.
Email contains the access link rather than the password itself. A reported send is not proof of inbox delivery. Never include passwords, a live link or its passphrase.
