PD Password Manager for Blesta: generate and hand off passwords

PD Password Manager combines a password generator, an encrypted vault and one-time secret handoff inside Blesta. It gives staff an alternative to pasting a password into an ordinary ticket or email.

What the workflow covers

Generate a character password or passphrase, save a credential in the vault when it needs to be retained, or create a one-time handoff for a recipient. These are different tasks: retaining a vault entry and sharing a one-time secret are not interchangeable.

Before you start

Install PD Modules for Blesta first, connect the account that holds your licence, then install PD Password Manager from its Store. Allow the staff group that needs to use it.

Set up your first workflow

  1. Open Settings and choose the allowed delivery modes: client-area login, public link or both. Set an appropriate default link lifetime.
  2. Use the generator and create a handoff with a harmless test value. Choose the recipient and delivery mode deliberately.
  3. Open that test handoff as its intended recipient and check the one-time behaviour before using the workflow for a real secret.

Check the result

Check the delivery mode and expiry, and confirm the link no longer reveals the test value after it has been read. Keep the link out of public notes and screenshots.

Generating or handing off a password does not itself reset a Blesta service password. Complete any required service-password change separately through that service’s management tools. Public-link passphrase requirements and client vault access are Pro features.
