Share a password using PD Password Manager in Blesta
Use Share a secret to deliver a credential through a time-limited link instead of placing the secret in an ordinary message. Choose the recipient and protection before creating the link.
Check delivery settings
In Settings, review Allowed handoff delivery modes, Default delivery mode for a new secret and Default link lifetime (hours). The permitted modes can be client-area login, public link or both. A public link can be used by anyone holding it; client-area delivery requires the addressed signed-in client account.
Create the handoff
- Open Share a secret and fill in Secret to share.
- Set Who can open it. For client-area delivery, select Send to this client and verify that account.
- Set Expires after (hours) and a non-secret Label (only you see this) to recognise the handoff later.
- With Pro, review Passphrase, Allowed views and Email me when opened. A required public-link passphrase must be supplied.
- Choose Create secure link. Copy the complete link from the result before leaving the page; it is shown once.
- Deliver it to the intended recipient. Send any passphrase separately.
The standard tier permits one view and up to 24 hours. Pro supports multiple allowed views and up to 90 days. An ordinary URL preview does not consume a view; revealing uses a separate request. Do not test the recipient’s real one-view link yourself.
Check the outcome
The recipient opens the complete link, signs in to the addressed account if required, and uses the reveal control. The link stops allowing further retrieval after its view allowance or lifetime is spent. This does not erase anything already copied, photographed or saved by the recipient.
Creating a handoff does not change the credential on its service. A missing opened-notification email does not prove that the link remains unopened. Use Recent links and the recipient’s redacted error to investigate; never send support the complete link, secret or passphrase.
