Update a stored password or note in PD Password Manager for Blesta
Update the vault after confirming the credential that is active on the account. Editing a stored value does not change that external account.
Open the correct entry
- Open PD Password Manager → Vault and locate the entry by title, username and client.
- Choose Edit with permission to manage entries.
- Review the account details before changing Password / secret or Notes.
- Make the intended changes and choose Save changes.
If your role may reveal secrets, the editor loads the existing password and notes. Opening Edit can therefore expose secrets and record a reveal, even if you only wanted to change a tag. Keep the screen private.
Understand blank fields
When your role cannot reveal secrets, the editor leaves those fields blank and tells you that leaving them blank preserves the stored values. Entering a new value replaces the corresponding field. With reveal permission, do not assume that clearing a loaded field means “keep the old value”.
If a value that should exist appears unexpectedly empty, stop before saving and check the entry and your reveal permission. Do not overwrite an unreadable value as an attempted repair.
Verify the change
Check the saved metadata and, if authorised, the intended credential. Changing the actual password updates its stored rotation age and clears the earlier breach-check result. A metadata-only edit does not make an unchanged password newly rotated. Changing the vault copy is not a substitute for changing the password on the service first and checking that result.
