How to create a client or service note in WHMCS with PD Notes

Keep an onboarding decision, agreed action or service handover beside the account it concerns. PD Notes lets your WHMCS staff attach a note to a client, a particular service or a domain, rather than keeping every detail in a general list.

Choose the account before writing

Install and enable PD Notes through PD Modules and grant the staff who need it access. Open PD Notes → All Notes → New note.

  1. Choose Attach to: client, service or domain.
  2. Choose Client. For a service or domain note, choose the specific item belonging to that client.
  3. Finish these choices before entering the note: changing the selectors reloads the form.
  4. Check the selected client and item against the work you are recording.

The client’s staff-side profile also offers a PD Notes tab with + Add note when that surface is enabled. It starts with the client already selected.

Write and save the note

Enter an optional Title and a non-empty Note. Markdown is supported. Use a concise title such as “Migration handover” and include the next agreed action in the body. Add Colour, Tag or Pin if useful. Leave Remind me blank unless the note needs follow-up.

Review visibility before choosing Create note. Notes start staff-only; client visibility is a separate choice and domain notes stay staff-only. Keep credentials and unnecessary personal information out of the example.

Check the saved result

Find the note in All Notes, open it and check its contents and attachment. Edit changes the saved note; the attached target is displayed read-only in the editor. Confirm a correction with Save changes, then reopen the note. If the intended client or item is missing from the picker, check the selected account and its available items rather than inventing an identifier.
