Create a narrowly scoped product offer with PD Discount Manager, then check the result before widening eligibility. The rule records which items qualify, how much comes off and how long the discount applies in WHMCS.

Prepare the intended offer

Install and enable PD Discount Manager through PD Modules and grant the staff who need it access. In Settings, review Apply discounts and leave Allow discounts to stack off unless you intend combined offers.

Decide the product, billing cycle, audience, amount and duration before saving. A newly created rule is active when saved; there is no separate draft publication step. Use a future start date or a deliberately narrow audience when preparing an offer for later.

Create the rule

1. Open Discounts → New discount and enter Discount name (internal).
2. Under What, choose Specific product(s) and the intended Price: recurring, setup or both.
3. Under How much, select the actual products, billing cycles and Discount type. Enter Default discount or reviewed grid amounts.
4. Choose Apply on: first invoice only, every renewal or first N invoices.
5. Under Who, set the intended client or client-group restrictions.
6. Under When & limits, review dates, caps and priority, then choose Create discount.

Selecting Specific product(s) but leaving the product picker empty saves an all-products rule. Check the selected products explicitly rather than treating an empty picker as “nothing qualifies”. WHMCS also offers addon and domain targets. Keep this product procedure separate from a domain registration, transfer or renewal offer.

Verify where the saving appears

WHMCS applies eligible rules while pricing the cart and when processing eligible invoices. A rule’s optional promo code must be entered in the cart; a blank code means automatic application.

Use your established controlled test process and compare the eligible item, setup fee and invoice duration. An order can provision real resources even if its invoice is discounted. Inspect Usage for recorded discounts. If the offer should not remain available, disable the rule in the list and confirm its status is Off.
