How to restrict a WHMCS discount to selected clients or products

Use PD Discount Manager’s audience and product conditions to make a targeted WHMCS offer. Selecting a client group is useful for an established-customer offer; requiring products can make a discount conditional on a particular purchase or existing service.

Choose the items being discounted

Open PD Discount Manager → Discounts, then edit the intended rule. Check Applies to, its selected products or group and Which billing cycles?. These define the items receiving the saving; they are different from products required merely to qualify.

WHMCS also offers addon and domain targets. Keep this product procedure separate from a domain registration, transfer or renewal offer.

Set the audience under Who

  1. Use Specific clients (optional) to select individual clients, or leave it empty for no individual-client restriction.
  2. Use Specific client groups (optional) when membership of a group is required.
  3. Review New clients and First order separately; they are different conditions.
  4. Select Required products in cart (optional) when the order must contain every listed product.
  5. Select Required products already owned (optional) when the client must already have every listed product active.
  6. Set Minimum active services (optional) only when a minimum existing service count is intended.

Conditions combine: a selected client must also satisfy a selected group and the other enabled requirements. Adding clients and groups does not create an either/or audience. Every product in each required-products list is required, rather than just one of them.

Check new-client meaning and the result

In Settings, review “New client” window (days, 0 = first order). A positive window uses the registration age; zero uses the no-existing-services condition. Do not assume ticking New clients always means the account was created today.

Save changes, reopen the rule and review the selected labels. Existing paused rules retain their paused status when edited; check Active or Off in the list. Check one eligible and one ineligible example through your controlled test process. WHMCS applies eligible rules while pricing the cart and when processing eligible invoices. A rule’s optional promo code must be entered in the cart; a blank code means automatic application.
