Configure a Lightsail server welcome email in WHMCS
Give customers a clear route from their order confirmation to the Lightsail service page. The welcome email should explain where connection details appear and which management controls your offering includes, without embedding a private SSH key in the message.
Prepare the template
Create a short WHMCS welcome message using the fields offered by your email editor. It describes the server as being set up and directs the customer to the service page once it is ready; an email being sent is not evidence that provisioning has finished.
Keep the service name and status fields, the link to manage the service, and concise connection guidance. Describe console, firewall and snapshot controls only when they are available on the offering. Leave the private-key download on the authenticated service page.
Attach the right email
- Open System Settings → Products/Services and edit the PD Lightsail product.
- On Other, choose or create the intended Welcome Email template.
- Write the service name, setup status and sign-in instructions using the email editor’s available merge fields.
- Insert the appropriate client-area or service link using the editor’s available fields, then save the product/template.
- Review the template using WHMCS’s available preview or controlled test process.
Use the tags offered for this WHMCS email. Do not replace them with plain text that points every customer to one fixed service. Keep the website URL, service link and sender identity appropriate to your own hosting business.
What customers should learn
Explain how to sign in, open their service and find Connection details after the server is ready. Link to your SSH connection instructions where useful. If you offer the optional browser terminal, describe it as another access method rather than a requirement for using SSH.
Check the result
Confirm that the product/package name and service link resolve correctly in your preview or controlled test. Check that the email does not promise controls disabled on the product, and that a new customer can tell the difference between setup in progress and a running server.
If a field is left unresolved, compare it with the email editor’s available tags. If a link opens the wrong service or website, fix the template before sending further welcome messages. An email-copy change does not repair a separate provisioning problem.
