How to monitor TLS certificate expiry in Blesta with PD Uptime Pro

Use PD Uptime & Status Pro to notice a certificate nearing expiry before customers encounter an expired website certificate. The certificate monitor in Blesta checks the certificate presented by the hostname’s HTTPS listener; it does not renew certificates for you.

Add the expiry monitor

  1. Confirm Pro is active and open PD Modules → Uptime → Monitors → Add a monitor.
  2. Enter a recognisable What is it label.
  3. Under What to check, select the certificate-expiry option.
  4. Enter the intended hostname in Address.
  5. Link Whose service is it only if that customer should see the monitor, then choose Add monitor.

The expiry probe connects to the hostname on port 443. A path in a URL is not a separate certificate, and a custom port in the address is not a substitute for a custom certificate-port setting.

Read the warning correctly

A certificate within the fixed 21-day warning window is a failed expiry check, with the expiry date or remaining days in its result. It follows the same configured failure-confirmation and transition-alert workflow as other monitors. A Down expiry state can therefore mean “renew soon” even though the website still opens.

This is an expiry check, not a complete certificate trust, hostname, chain or security assessment. Use a website HTTPS monitor alongside it when the actual page response matters. Do not assume an expiry success proves every visitor will trust the site.

Verify after renewal

Renew through your normal certificate-management process, then check the new expiry result after an eligible round. Keep Checked and the recorded reason in view; a saved monitor or previous expiry date is not proof of a fresh probe. If the expiry cannot be read, check the recorded connection or local capability reason separately from the expiry result. PD Uptime does not install or replace the certificate.
