How to review domain expiry and auto-renew findings in PD Domain Radar in WHMCS
Use expiry findings to prioritise a domain review, then verify the actual registration and renewal position. A reminder threshold is not a renewal instruction.
Set the expiry windows
- Open PD Modules → Domain Radar → Settings.
- Set Warn this many days before a domain expires.
- Set Treat it as critical within this many days to an appropriate shorter window.
- Review Flag auto-renew being off close to expiry, save and check the next scan result.
Expiry findings use an expiry returned by the registry lookup. The portfolio can display a platform-supplied fallback date, so distinguish that display from the evidence behind the finding. Critical promotion happens inside the warning window; setting the critical window larger does not extend the outer warning window.
Investigate the finding
Review the domain, expiry detail, checked time and whether it is managed or imported. Expired is different from Expiring soon. An imported watchlist name does not have an authoritative local renewal setting, even if an auto-renew warning appears.
Understand the offered action
For a managed domain, Turn auto-renew on changes the platform-side instruction. On WHMCS, it clears the domain’s do-not-renew flag. It does not itself submit a registry renewal or confirm that payment and renewal succeeded.
Check the platform record after the action and the next finding result. For a registry renewal, use your normal authorised registration workflow and confirm the resulting expiry. Do not treat the disappearance of a warning as a renewal receipt.
