How to investigate cloud charges that do not match a service in Blesta
An unmatched charge means the released matching workflow could not attribute that stored row. It does not establish that the resource has no owner, no customer revenue or no legitimate use.
Compare the provider contribution
- Open PD Modules → Cost & Margin → Providers.
- Select the intended month.
- Compare Resources with Matched to a service.
- Review the export’s resource identifiers and the intended service records independently.
- Check Paying for nothing for unmatched rows that meet the current thresholds.
In this release, matching recognises certain service markers in resource names or supported tag inputs. The import and refresh paths do not supply every possible provider tag. A recognised naming marker is not independent evidence of resource ownership.
Distinguish missing and incorrect matches
A bare instance identifier or resource path may lack a recognised marker even when it belongs to a PD-provisioned service. Conversely, a recognised naming pattern can identify a service number without independently proving account ownership. Verify the actual resource and service rather than trusting the matched count alone.
Multiple provider accounts can use overlapping names, while stored costs are keyed by provider, resource and month. Do not assume that separate accounts are independently represented in every case. Compare account and resource identifiers with the original provider export before relying on a match.
Preserve useful evidence
Record the provider, period, redacted resource reference, import counts and expected service. Do not rename live resources merely to manufacture a match or enter service markers into an export to force attribution. A falsely matched charge can distort both the intended customer’s result and another customer’s margin.
The module has no general manual reassignment workflow in this release. Do not treat an unresolved attribution as a verified service match or edit internal data to force one.
