How to configure cloud loss and unmatched-resource emails in Blesta

Use email alerts to prompt a review of stored results. They are not a separate verification of the provider bill or a complete profit report.

Configure recipients and timing

  1. Open PD Modules → Cost & Margin → Settings.
  2. Review Who to email about losses and orphans and enter the intended staff addresses, separated by commas.
  3. Review Email me when something new starts losing money, which is off by default.
  4. Review Refresh cost data automatically and normal Blesta cron operation before saving.

If no valid recipients are supplied, the module can fall back to the platform system sender address. Check the intended recipient rather than relying on an invalid list being silently ignored.

Understand released alert behaviour

Despite the setting’s wording, this release can send the currently stored loss and qualifying unmatched-resource lists after later scheduled refreshes. It does not persist a once-per-month deduplication marker, and thin-margin rows alone are not included in the loss query.

Manual refresh suppresses this alert path, and importing an export does not send it either. Enabling email does not immediately send the backlog or make the import button a mail test. Each email lists a limited number of loss rows and unmatched rows.

Review a missing or repeated message

Check the scheduled refresh, current verdicts, orphan thresholds, expected flags and normal mail evidence. Successful mail submission is not proof of inbox delivery. Because the email can include stored data after a refresh with incomplete provider results, compare the source and period before treating it as a new incident.

Keep private bills, customer details and provider credentials out of shared screenshots. Do not trigger repeated provider calls merely to generate another email.
