Fix an activated WHMCS service with no ready DigitalOcean server

Separate billing activation, the initial provider request and the module’s finishing jobs. A paid or Active service record alone does not prove the intended Droplet, storage, firewall and address are ready.

Check the activation path

  1. Open the product under System Settings → Products/Services and review its Module Settings.
  2. Confirm PD DigitalOcean Droplets and the intended server group.
  3. Check Automatically setup the product, selecting the first-payment option when that is the intended policy.
  4. Check the affected service’s payment state and module result. Saving a new setup default does not prove an older service has now been created.

Check the provider request

Open the module’s service/operation view and Activity for the affected service. Determine whether creation was not called, is pending, or failed with a specific error. A connection test can pass with read-only permissions while creation fails.

Review the account under System Settings → Servers and the token’s expiry/permissions. A quota or unavailable region/plan combination is a different problem from invalid authentication. Keep the original error so your team can distinguish a refused request from a pending operation.

Check finishing jobs

After the provider reports the server active, a background job records addresses and completes selected side resources. Check normal platform cron and PD Modules job results when that stage remains pending. Do not treat the paid-service activation task and the module’s finishing job as one event with a guaranteed interval.

Wait for a known running operation rather than submitting another Create/Activate. If the outcome is uncertain, compare the original Activity result and existing resources in your own DigitalOcean account before deciding whether another operation is appropriate. Do not create a second order or delete a partially created resource merely to clear the error.

Verify the result

Confirm the intended server/account, actual region/plan/OS and running state. Check connection details, extra storage, firewall and dedicated IP separately when included. A corrected configuration is not a completed provisioning test.

The offering setup guide covers configuration before orders are accepted.

See the PD DigitalOcean Droplets WHMCS guide for related tasks, or explore the module.
