How to edit or disable an AI Assistant automation in WHMCS
Change an existing AI Assistant rule in place when its instruction, trigger or review policy needs updating. Disabling a rule is separate from removing suggestions it has already produced or stopping a run that is already in progress.
Locate the rule
Open PD Modules → PD AI Assistant → Settings → Advanced → Automations → Rules. Match the name, When, Mode and Instruction for the AI to the workflow you intend to change.
If you need to stop further processing under that rule while reviewing it, use its Disable control first and confirm the row’s off state. Do not assume changing the instruction itself pauses the rule.
Save the revised instruction
- Review the rule’s Name and supported When choice.
- Update Instruction for the AI with the exact task you want it to perform.
- Review Mode deliberately; Suggest and Auto have different consequences.
- Choose Save changes on that rule.
- Reopen or inspect the row to confirm the saved fields and on/off state.
- Use Enable only when the revised workflow should process eligible events again.
Saving the fields does not automatically change the enabled state. A duplicate new rule could process the same event alongside the old one, so use the existing row when replacing its purpose.
Review work already produced
Inspect To review or Pending actions for earlier suggestions. Disabling or deleting the rule does not withdraw those proposals, undo applied replies or reverse notes already added. Reconcile any operation that may have been in progress before retrying or approving another draft.
Queued events are processed against current enabled rules. Do not assume that a rule edit affects only events created after the edit, or that every previous failure has been cancelled.
Retire rather than merely pause
Use Delete and its confirmation when the rule is no longer wanted. Keep the relevant operational evidence first; deleting a rule is not a general purge of suggestions or event history.
Also check the separate Ticket AI mode setting. Disabling a custom ticket rule does not turn off the built-in Auto-draft behaviour when that mode remains selected. For an unresolved state, retain the rule name, trigger, mode and original attempt time while your hosting team checks the current rule and proposals, without the private ticket or order contents.
