How Support PIN verification works in Blesta
PD Support PIN adds a short account PIN to the client’s signed-in dashboard and gives staff a way to check a value supplied during a support conversation. The result is match or no-match, without displaying the stored PIN during verification.
Use this as one step in your support process. A matching PIN confirms the value associated with the selected account; it does not prove who the caller is or replace the checks needed for a particular account change.
Where the client finds the PIN
When the dashboard panel is enabled, the client signs in to their Blesta client area and finds the Support PIN panel on the dashboard. They can read the current PIN to your support team.
If client regeneration is allowed, the dashboard also lets the client replace their PIN. Use the current dashboard value during a call, especially if it has recently been regenerated.
How staff check a caller’s PIN
- Open PD Support PIN → Verify.
- Select the client account the conversation concerns.
- Ask the client to read the PIN from their signed-in dashboard.
- Enter the supplied value and check for match or no-match.
Staff can also use the Support PIN row in the PD Modules strip on the client’s admin profile. A blind check does not require staff to reveal the stored PIN.
If a value does not match, check the selected account and ask the client to confirm their current dashboard PIN. Continue with your normal verification process if it still does not match.
Review the settings that apply to this platform
After installing PD Support PIN through the PD Modules panel, open PD Support PIN → Settings. Start with the client-dashboard panel, the client-profile panel, reveal-on-click masking and whether clients may regenerate their own PIN.
The client-area sidebar card, Account-menu PIN row and admin ticket-view PIN are not available here. Those settings may appear in the module’s settings, but they do not add those placements. For this platform, use the client dashboard and the staff profile or Verify tab.
Decide who may reveal or regenerate PINs
Open Staff access and choose which staff roles may reveal or regenerate a PIN. Other roles can still verify the PIN supplied by a caller without seeing the stored value.
If Regenerate the PIN after a successful verification is enabled, a successful check replaces the PIN. Explain that behaviour to your team before enabling it so they know why the client may see a different value next time.
Try a complete check before introducing it
Use a test client account you control. Confirm that its dashboard panel appears, check the correct PIN, then try an incorrect value and compare the results. Review the Activity tab for the recorded checks.
Keep PINs out of public screenshots and avoid copying them into support tickets. If one has been exposed, use the available client or authorised staff controls to regenerate it.
Explore PD Support PIN for Blesta for the module details and decide how the dashboard-to-staff verification process will fit your support workflow.
