How to set discount dates, usage limits and renewal terms in Blesta

Separate the period when a Blesta offer can be claimed from the period for which an eligible service receives its saving. PD Discount Manager has date and usage conditions for qualification, plus Apply on for the invoice duration.

Set the duration of the saving

Open the rule’s How much step and review Apply on. First invoice only covers the initial invoice. Every renewal continues the eligible recurring offer. First N invoices uses How many invoices and counts the order invoice as the first, so three means the first invoice and two renewals.

A setup-fee offer does not create a new setup charge to discount on every renewal. Review the selected Price and the actual invoice lines alongside the duration.

Limit when and how often it is offered

  1. Open When & limits and enter Start date (optional) and End date (optional) in YYYY-MM-DD format.
  2. Review the installation’s time setting. The end date includes the day through 23:59:59 in the evaluator’s date handling.
  3. Set Total usage limit (0 = unlimited) for an overall cap.
  4. Set Per-client limit (0 = unlimited) when each client should have a smaller allowance.
  5. Check Minimum order value and Minimum item price if these gates are part of the offer.
  6. Save and reopen the rule to confirm the intended values.

Product-rule usage limits count qualifying orders rather than each later product renewal. A service sold with an ongoing rule can keep qualifying under its recorded grant after the promotional end date or after the client is no longer new.

Pause carefully

Disable the individual rule to stop new sales under it. Apply discounts suppresses new rule evaluation, but it is not a universal stop for renewal discounts already sold. Deleting a rule has a different consequence and can end its future renewal saving; do not use deletion as a pause button.

The rule is still editable, so do not assume changing amounts or target settings affects only future customers. Review existing commitments before changing it. Check Usage and the relevant invoice before making a correction.
