How to add database checkout choices in WHMCS with PD DigitalOcean Databases

Let customers choose the database configuration you support while keeping the engine and edition fixed by the product.

Save the defaults first

Open the intended product and review its DigitalOcean account, Engine, Region, Plan, Engine version and High availability on Module Settings. Separate engines and editions into separate offerings. Make sure the defaults are valid even when you hide a choice from checkout.

Generate the options

  1. Open PD Modules → DigitalOcean Databases → Products and find the intended product.
  2. Choose Generate options, read the confirmation and inspect the assigned native configurable option group.
  3. Review Region, Plan, High availability and Engine version where available. High availability is not generated for Kafka, whose cluster already has its defined broker layout; edition restrictions can also remove the choice.
  4. Use the customer-selectable dimension controls to choose what appears, save and inspect the actual checkout form. Hidden choices normally use the product defaults; verify both the saved defaults and final order selection.

Set prices in the billing platform

Set product pricing and its automatic-setup policy deliberately. Manage generated choice prices under System Settings → Products/Services → Configurable Options; the product’s Configurable Options tab assigns groups.

Review every generated value and billing currency you offer. Database sizes include their size-specific storage; this module does not generate a separate adjustable storage dimension. Customer choice is not a promise of provider capacity.

Update an existing option group carefully

Rebuild from DigitalOcean refreshes the generated group and resets generated prices. Compatible existing option identifiers are retained, but that does not remove the need to review prices and current services before rebuilding. Saving visibility is a separate operation that preserves prices.

After rebuilding, inspect the group, prices, visible choices and checkout again. Cached or fallback catalogue data can still differ from the selected account’s current offering. Region and version choices apply when creating the cluster; do not present later edits as a region migration or engine upgrade.
