Understand PD Object Storage usage figures in WHMCS
Read a storage measurement together with its source time and backend. PD Object Storage collects usage in the background; the displayed figure is not a live provider invoice or proof that every stored version was counted.
Check the service and collection result
- Open PD Object Storage → Clients & Storage and identify the intended service.
- Review its backend, quota, latest measurement and source time where shown.
- Check Activity for the latest usage collection result.
- Confirm WHMCS cron is running if measurements remain unavailable.
- On the customer’s Usage page, use Refresh where available and inspect its actual result.
A recently pressed Refresh button does not by itself mean a new complete measurement succeeded. The control can report that the last measurement was too recent or that collection failed; repeated clicks do not resolve the underlying issue.
Account for backend differences
AWS normally uses daily CloudWatch storage metrics, which can lag current object activity. Its live or fallback object listing is bounded and is not a complete historical-version inventory. See AWS’s storage metrics reference for what provider metrics represent.
R2 uses provider analytics, so an immediate object change need not appear immediately in the graph. Spaces uses an object listing in this module release; historical versions and a sufficiently large listing can be undercounted. MinIO normally uses its scanner figures or an object-list fallback, which also has completeness limits. Do not use a small or zero reading alone to establish that a bucket or all versions are empty.
Keep allowance, access and invoices separate
A quota figure, actual access mode and generated invoice are different results. WHMCS overage billing needs its own configuration; a measurement being written to disk-usage fields does not prove a charge was raised.
For an unexpected figure or access refusal, retain the service, backend, sample time and redacted collection result. Use operational checks rather than purging data to reset a graph.
