Connect DigitalOcean Spaces to PD Object Storage in WHMCS

Connect DigitalOcean Spaces as a backend for PD Object Storage. The host uses a DigitalOcean Personal Access Token; customers use separately issued bucket-scoped S3 credentials.

Prepare and save the host token

Install PD Modules, connect the account holding your licence and install PD Object Storage from its Store. Prepare a dedicated host credential for the intended account; customers receive separate service credentials. Keep host credentials out of customer tools, screenshots and tickets.

Ask the DigitalOcean administrator to review Spaces-key read, creation with returned credentials, update and delete scopes, including their required dependencies. DigitalOcean documents creation with returned credentials separately; do not automatically grant unrestricted account access to resolve a 403.

  1. Open System Settings → Products/Services → Servers.
  2. Add a PD Object Storage server and enter the Personal Access Token in Password.
  3. Save and assign the connection to its own intended server group.
  4. Save DigitalOcean Spaces as the product’s Backend with that server group.
  5. Review its default region and actual checkout choices.

The module does not use Username or Hostname for this Spaces connection. Keep the host token separate from customer access keys.

Understand the test’s credential changes

Open PD Object Storage → Settings → Test Connection. It checks configured accounts whose backend can be resolved. The Spaces test lists keys, can clean up stale temporary operation keys, creates a temporary full-access S3 key and uses it to list regional buckets. It creates no bucket, but it changes credential state. Temporary-key removal is attempted; do not assume cleanup succeeded after an error.

A passing result does not establish that every provisioning or bucket-setting write will work. Inspect the named account result and Activity, then use the product setup guide.

If an operation fails, keep its original time and redacted error for the administrator. A failed permission transition is not proof that the requested access mode applied, and credential rotation is not a universal repair.
