Troubleshoot AWS S3 storage provisioning in Blesta

Investigate the exact failed PD AWS S3 operation before repeating an order or replacing credentials. A billing service record and a successfully provisioned bucket are different pieces of evidence.

Establish what ran

  1. Identify the intended service, module account and selected region.
  2. Open PD AWS S3 → Clients & Storage and inspect its state.
  3. Review Activity for the original operation, time and provider result.
  4. Check the service’s client information without exposing credentials.
  5. Inspect actual existing resources before repeating an uncertain action.

Check the paid-pending provisioning task, client-group permission and cron; for a staff activation, confirm Use module was enabled.

Diagnose the named refusal

The connection test reads S3, IAM and CloudWatch; passing it does not prove CreateBucket, customer-user creation, key issuance or every setting permission. Ask the AWS administrator to review the actual refused action and intended scope.

For signature errors, compare the complete credential pair, region and server time with the responsible administrator. For a bucket-name conflict, inspect the intended naming prefix and actual resource rather than deleting an unrelated bucket. IAM user and key limits can also refuse provisioning independently of S3 reachability.

Keep service-state problems separate

An upload-only refusal can be a hard-quota pause or suspension policy. A pending usage figure can require the usage checks. None is a reason to purge retained data or broadly disable AWS security controls.

Retain the module, service reference, selected configuration, original action time and exact redacted error while your hosting team checks the failing stage. Do not send host or service secret keys, presigned URLs, full configuration dumps or customer file contents.

Check the provisioning stage

Your hosting team should compare the original provisioning event, selected account/region and Activity result with the actual bucket, IAM user/key and service state. Distinguish S3, IAM and CloudWatch refusals; a passing read-only connection test does not establish bucket creation, user/policy creation, usable customer credentials or every setting permission. Your AWS administrator should inspect a partial creation before another attempt. Do not create another order, remove unrelated resources or broadly expand IAM access merely to obtain a different result.

See the PD AWS S3 Blesta guide for related tasks, or explore the module.
