Troubleshoot PD AWS MySQL provisioning in Blesta

As the hosting operator, investigate your customer’s original service and the recorded operation before repeating an order or changing AWS resources. A billing status, accepted task and available database are different results.

Establish what ran

  1. Identify the original service and selected account, region, backing and plan.
  2. Inspect Clients & Databases and Activity.
  3. Record the original operation time and exact redacted error.
  4. Check whether the intended provisioning event called the module.
  5. In your own AWS account, check the selected backing service and region for the intended database before retrying an uncertain request. An RDS database and a Lightsail database are different resources; check the service the offering actually uses.

Check paid-pending automation, client-group permission and cron; for staff activation confirm Use module was selected.

Keep cron running for queued jobs, readiness updates and lifecycle work. A “Database ready” Activity row is not sufficient on its own; compare the actual current status and endpoint before testing application connections.

Separate credential and network causes

The module-panel connection test performs a read-only RDS list call for the first configured active account. It does not prove all regions, Lightsail permissions, firewall writes or every selected account. If the account is intended only for Lightsail, a refusal of this RDS read does not by itself establish whether its Lightsail database permissions are correct. Check the permission named by the failed operation rather than adding unrelated access simply to make a test pass.

For a denied operation, have the administrator review its named permission. RDS firewall provisioning needs EC2 group-management permissions in addition to database permissions. If an error says no default VPC exists, check the underlying lookup and permissions before assuming network resources must be created.

A pending or failed setup can leave an existing database or unfinished operation. Compare the module’s selected backing, region and recorded result with the resource state visible in your AWS account. If AWS and the module disagree, record that difference before requesting another creation. Editing the backing setting does not migrate that database or explain the original operation.

Keep customer access checks specific

Use TLS connection checks for endpoint, routing and login problems, RDS allowed addresses for its firewall, and graph checks for missing measurements.
