Reset a PD AWS MySQL database password in Blesta
As the hosting operator, enable the intended password control and help your customer plan changes to applications that use the database login. The client-area steps below change the database master password; dependent applications need the new value after AWS applies it.
Prepare the change
Identify the intended service and the applications using its database login. Choose an appropriate change window and keep the new password private. Revealing an existing saved password is a different task and does not require a reset.
Enable Client: Connection details for the offering and check that the affected service allows the intended change. The password form accepts 8–41 characters using letters, digits and the symbols – _ ! # %; follow the actual validation shown by the panel.
Customer steps: submit once and follow the result
- Open the service’s Overview connection controls.
- Choose Reset password and enter the intended new value.
- Read the confirmation and submit once.
- Follow the request under Activity and inspect the database’s current state.
- After the change applies, update the dependent applications and test a new connection.
A queued request is not proof that the password already works at AWS. Existing connections and new logins can behave differently during a change; verify the actual application result.
Handle an uncertain result
If the operation fails or times out, inspect the original request before submitting another password. AWS can accept a change while saving the displayed service password later needs attention.
As the hosting operator, compare the original Activity result and database state in your AWS account. Record whether the request was refused, remains in progress or was accepted while the displayed service details appear inconsistent. A changed or revealed password alone is not proof of a successful fresh application login. Changing the database password does not change your AWS account key or repair the network path.
