PD AWS MariaDB — Resell Fully-Managed MariaDB Databases on AWS in WHMCS and Blesta

Resell fully-managed MariaDB databases on AWS — provisioned, billed and managed in WHMCS or Blesta

Made and supported by Projektif Digital Ltd. Runs inside PD Modules, the panel every module installs into.

Sell managed MariaDB, without the AWS console

PD AWS MariaDB turns a WHMCS or Blesta product into a fully-managed MariaDB database on Amazon RDS. Your client orders it like any other service; the module provisions a dedicated, isolated database on your AWS account, and hands them a self-service portal inside your WHMCS or Blesta. Neither you nor your client ever opens the AWS console.

MariaDB is wire-compatible with MySQL, so it's a drop-in database for the huge range of apps that expect MySQL — with the performance and open governance many customers prefer.

How provisioning works

  1. Your client orders your MariaDB product in WHMCS or Blesta. 2. PD AWS MariaDB launches a fresh, isolated instance on Amazon RDS in the region you choose (typically eu-west-2 / London for UK hosts). 3. It's ready in a few minutes; WHMCS or Blesta writes the endpoint, port and credentials to the service. 4. The client area switches from "Provisioning…" to the live management portal.

The reseller's control plane

From the PD Modules admin panel you can:

  • See every database across all clients with its region, plan and current state — no AWS console needed.
  • Generate plan options in one click — Graviton-powered tiers (db.t4g.micro → db.m6g.xlarge) plus billable storage sizes — and link them to any product.
  • Review activity logs for every provisioning event.

A self-service portal for your clients

Each database gets its own management portal inside your WHMCS or Blesta, with dedicated pages reached from a left-hand menu:

  • Overview — connection details, a ready-to-paste connection string, the TLS certificate download, and one-click Start / Stop / Reboot and password reset.
  • Usage — live CPU, connections, memory and storage graphs from Amazon CloudWatch.
  • Snapshots — take, restore and delete backups without a support ticket.
  • Firewall — an IP allow-list that applies to the database in seconds.
  • Activity — a timestamped history of every action.

Safe by design

  • Storage and plan changes apply in place with an automatic safety snapshot first — data is never moved or recreated, and storage is only ever increased.
  • Every database sits in its own security group; clients only manage their own rules.
  • All connections are TLS-encrypted; the Amazon CA bundle is offered for download.
  • The client area renders natively on Six (Bootstrap 3) and Twenty-One / Nexus (Bootstrap 4) with no extra CSS, and can be translated or rebranded with a language file or template override.

Built on the PD AWS platform

PD AWS MariaDB is part of the PD Modules AWS database family, sharing the same provisioning engine as PD AWS MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle and SQL Server. Each engine is sold as its own module with its own product.

Questions

Which billing platforms does PD AWS MariaDB work with?

PD AWS MariaDB is available for WHMCS (8.13 or later) and Blesta (6.0 or later). Each has its own page with the screenshots, requirements and price for that system. A module is added to the PD Modules licence of the installation it runs on, so a WHMCS installation and a Blesta installation each hold their own licence.

Who pays for the AWS usage?

You do — the database runs on your AWS account. You set the sell price on your WHMCS or Blesta product and bill your client through WHMCS or Blesta as normal, keeping the difference as margin.

Is MariaDB compatible with MySQL?

Yes. MariaDB is wire-compatible with MySQL, so it's a drop-in database for the vast range of applications that expect MySQL, while giving you MariaDB's performance and open governance.

What plans can I offer?

One click generates a curated set of Graviton-powered RDS plans (db.t4g.micro up to db.m6g.xlarge) plus billable storage sizes, linked to your product as configurable options. You price each tier.

Can clients resize or add storage themselves?

Storage and plan changes are billed through WHMCS or Blesta Upgrade/Downgrade — never a free client button. They apply in place with an automatic safety snapshot first, so data is never lost, and storage is only ever increased.

Is it secure?

Every database sits in its own security group (clients only manage their own IP rules), all connections are TLS-encrypted with the Amazon CA bundle offered for download, and master passwords are masked until explicitly revealed.

Which WHMCS or Blesta themes are supported?

The client area renders natively on Six (Bootstrap 3), Twenty-One and Nexus (Bootstrap 4) with no extra CSS, and can be translated or rebranded with a language file or template override.

What happens when a client cancels?

The module deletes the RDS database cleanly on termination — no orphaned instances and no surprise AWS charges.

What happens if my subscription lapses?

Nothing of yours is touched, and nothing is deleted. The module steps down in stages instead: a 14-day grace period where everything still works and you get a renewal reminder, then admin management locks while your customers carry on being served, and only after that do the customer-facing features stop — behind a neutral "temporarily unavailable, please contact support" message that never mentions licensing to your customer. Anything the module provisioned keeps running in your own account throughout, and your data and settings stay exactly where they are. Renewing restores everything immediately.
