How to connect to MySQL using Blesta service details

Use the connection details provided by PD DigitalOcean MySQL to configure the application’s database connection with the correct endpoint, credential and TLS settings.

Open the connection window

Open the intended client service’s Information page and choose View connection details once the cluster is ready. Enable Client: Connection details on the package. Copy Host, Port, Database and Username from this service. Reveal the masked password with Show only when needed.

Use the displayed port rather than assuming the default MySQL port. Keep the password and any connection string containing it out of screenshots, public posts and support messages.

Configure the MySQL client

The module’s example uses the mysql client with a password prompt and ssl-mode=REQUIRED. Use the corresponding fields in your application or database client; do not paste the password into a public command example.

Standard and Advanced Edition use MySQL connection settings, but that does not prove that every application or client version is compatible with the selected server version. Review the client’s supported authentication and TLS options when diagnosing a failure.

Add CA and hostname verification

REQUIRED enforces an encrypted connection; it does not itself verify the server certificate and hostname. Use Download CA certificate when offered, then configure the client’s CA trust and identity-verification settings. MySQL’s documented VERIFY_IDENTITY mode includes CA and hostname checks when configured with the matching CA.

Follow your client’s supported configuration. Do not disable TLS or certificate verification to bypass an error. MySQL documents the distinction in its connection options reference.

Diagnose a failed connection

Check the current service state, allowed source IPv4 address, host/port, database, current username/password and TLS trust. A Running banner or visible stored credential is not a fresh application test; provider-read failures can leave stored status or endpoint values on screen.

Review the error alongside the client software and version. Do not recreate the database or repeatedly reset its password to diagnose an uncertain connection failure. User/database administration and imports are separate from the module’s connection window.
