PD DigitalOcean MySQL for Blesta: getting started
PD DigitalOcean MySQL lets you offer DigitalOcean managed MySQL clusters through Blesta, using DigitalOcean. It suits relational MySQL databases, with the resource linked to the customer’s service.
Before you start
Install PD Modules for Blesta first, connect the account that holds your licence, then install PD DigitalOcean MySQL from its Store. Allow the staff group that needs to use it.
You also need a DigitalOcean account and an API token permitted to manage the intended clusters. Check the provider account’s permissions, available locations and capacity before enabling automatic provisioning.
Connect the account
In Settings → Company → Modules, find the installed module, choose Manage and add its account connection. Blesta calls this a module row. Keep this provider connection separate from the package settings.
Define what the customer receives
Create a package using PD DigitalOcean MySQL and review its Module Options and configurable options. Start with Region, Plan, Engine version and High availability. Together these describe the resource requested when a service is provisioned; they are not just labels on the order form.
The available plans and engine versions come from the connected account. A listed option can still depend on capacity in the selected region.
Choose which client controls the package exposes. If you offer configurable options, check that their values match the module’s supported choices and that the defaults describe the service you intend to sell.
Put the service into use
Add the package group to the intended order form when it is ready. Blesta creates the service before provisioning completes; check the service state and ensure the normal cron is running for subsequent updates.
Check the first service
Check the cluster state, connection details and Trusted Sources before handing the service to its customer. Provisioning and the later recording of connection details are separate stages.
Creating a real service creates provider resources and can incur provider charges. Review the configuration first; use your normal controlled test process for the first provisioning rather than making an order solely to browse the settings.
