Resolve a MinIO storage quota upload pause in Blesta
Diagnose an upload refusal using the PD MinIO S3 service’s actual quota and access state. Hard quota and suspension are separate policies, and neither should be diagnosed from an error code alone.
Check the measured allowance
- Open the service’s Usage and storage information.
- Confirm its allowance, quota mode and latest successful measurement.
- Inspect whether access is quota-locked, read-only or disabled.
- Review Activity for the operation that changed access.
Soft quota warns without applying the hard upload pause. Hard quota changes the service’s access policy after usage is collected; it is not an exact atomic native bucket-size cap. Notification thresholds and a displayed percentage are separate from proof of current access.
Free space or review the plan
Remove only data that is no longer required, using the intended application and service bucket. Then use Refresh where offered, or allow the normal collection job to remeasure. Uploads resume after a successful policy update when usage is within the allowance; inspect that result rather than assuming an immediate change.
An administrator can review a legitimate plan increase. The customer must not be given the host credential to bypass a restriction.
Account for historical versions
An ordinary delete in a versioned bucket can add a marker while retaining bytes. The quota-locked policy allows normal downloads and deletes, but not every older-version read/delete operation. Have your hosting team’s storage administrator review the specific retained versions and access state if they prevent reclaiming space or recovering a required object.
Do not disable versioning expecting old versions to disappear, purge the service as quota repair, or repeatedly delete a current key that only creates markers. Retain the latest sample time and original redacted refusal while your hosting team checks the actual access state.
Some failed per-bucket measurements can be skipped while other buckets still contribute to a new sample. A fresh timestamp or successful Refresh is therefore not proof that every service bucket was counted. If usage drops unexpectedly or a quota pause changes after a measurement error, have your storage administrator compare the intended bucket set and actual stored data before treating the total as complete or assuming space was freed.
Check the quota and access mode
Your hosting team should compare the offering’s quota mode/allowance, latest successful sample and actual access mode with the original policy-update result. Hard quota is applied after measurement; review suspension separately and check whether a successful remeasurement and policy update followed any intended space reduction or plan change. Current-object deletion can leave historical bytes, and the quota-locked service key does not grant every version operation. Have your storage administrator review version-specific access through your authorised process. Do not give out the host key or purge the service to diagnose an upload pause.
