How to understand the MCP Hub tool catalogue in Blesta
The Catalogue tab shows the tools PD MCP Hub can offer. It helps you discover available capabilities, their source and their risk class before deciding what one assistant should use.
Read the catalogue columns
Open PD Modules → MCP Hub → Catalogue. Each row shows the readable tool title, its technical Name, From, Toolsets, Risk, Confirmation and definition Size. Use the title to understand the action and the exact name when matching the tool to Audit trail.
From distinguishes hub tools, installed module tools and attached servers. A tool for a provider family may list supported installed providers together. This does not mean the assistant can operate every provider or that each provider has identical features.
Distinguish availability from permission
The catalogue is installation-wide. A connection’s actual tool list is narrower because of its ceiling, areas, bound staff account and client scope. Seeing a tool in Catalogue is not proof that a particular connection can call it.
- Note the tool’s name, source and risk.
- Open Connections and identify the affected assistant.
- Review its ceiling and read-only override.
- Check the relevant offered area and staff permission.
- Refresh the assistant’s tool list after any authorised adjustment, then check Audit trail for the precise refusal if it still cannot perform the task.
A higher ceiling does not supply a missing staff permission. Search or discovery is not a route around the hub’s access checks. An attached server also needs approval and a connection grant before its tools are usable.
Keep the list useful
The summary shows the tool count, definition size and budget usage for the catalogue. These are measures of the tool surface, not an invoice, per-call price or proof of response quality. Narrow connections to their actual purpose instead of enabling every area for every assistant.
If a module tool is present but its required area cannot be selected in your installed build, do not substitute a different area or grant full administrator access. Check the installed module versions against the available area controls before trying the requested grant.
