Choose a DigitalOcean Spaces region in Blesta

Choose the storage location before PD DigitalOcean Spaces creates the service bucket. The region determines its regional S3 endpoint; changing an offering later does not move an existing bucket.

Set and check the intended region

  1. Open the package’s Module tab.
  2. Review Default Region for new storage.
  3. If the offering has a Region checkout choice, review the values actually offered.
  4. Inspect the accepted order’s selection, including any hidden option that can still submit a value.
  5. After provisioning, compare the service’s recorded region and issued endpoint with the intended location.

The Default Region belongs to the product or package, rather than the module’s global Settings page. Use the current region choices shown by the module and confirm provider availability where needed. A region code and an application’s signing configuration are separate concepts; use the issued connection guide for the application.

Understand existing services

A regional endpoint such as https://REGION.digitaloceanspaces.com must use the service’s actual region. This is a pattern, not an address to copy literally into a tool. Do not replace a working endpoint with a different region to try to move data.

Changing the default affects later provisioning. It does not migrate existing objects, update every application or make another region a copy of the original bucket.

Plan a move deliberately

When moving storage, establish the destination service, copy the required objects and versions using an appropriate administrator-supported process, and test recovery from the destination before retiring the original. Check retention and any pending purge first. Do not cancel the original service just to change its location.

For an unexpected location, your hosting team should retain the offering, accepted option value, service reference and original action time while checking the actual placement with your DigitalOcean administrator.

Check the service region

Your hosting team should compare the accepted Region choice, including a hidden choice that still submitted a value, with Default Region and the actual bucket location and issued endpoint. Your DigitalOcean administrator should establish the original bucket’s location before another creation attempt. Editing an offering does not move that bucket or copy its objects. Do not cancel or purge the original storage to diagnose its location.
