Forward one cPanel email address from Blesta
Create a single-address forward in PD cPanel DNS when mail for one named address should go to an intended receiving mailbox. This is different from domain-to-domain forwarding or a catch-all for unknown recipients.
Prepare mail delivery and ownership
Confirm the cPanel account arrangement and the source domain’s mail routing. The destination mailbox must be ready to receive mail. Publishing an MX record or saving a forward does not create the receiving mailbox.
Keep the current mail setup available for comparison, especially where the domain already has local mailboxes or external mail hosting. Do not change MX merely to make a forwarding form save.
Add the intended alias
- Open cPanel DNS → Zones, select the domain and open Forwarding.
- Choose the single-address email-forward action.
- Enter the complete source address in Forward this mailbox.
- Enter its intended receiving address in Forward to.
- Create the forward and inspect the saved source and destination.
- Test delivery using the source address and review the result at the destination.
This adapter supplies one destination per rule. Do not assume a comma-separated list is supported simply because another provider offers multiple destinations.
Diagnose delivery separately from the rule
Check authoritative MX, the serving mail system, exact source and destination, and any redacted bounce. An existing local mailbox or other mail rule can affect the observed route. Avoid forwarding loops back to the same address or an equivalent chain.
If the intended outcome is all unknown recipients going to one mailbox, use the domain-forwarder versus catch-all guide. Before removing a final forward, review the fallback-account implications.
