How to connect to Valkey using WHMCS service details

Find the Valkey endpoint and credentials in PD DigitalOcean Valkey, then configure a compatible client to use the service over TLS.

Open the connection window

Open the client service’s Overview page and choose View connection details once the cluster is ready. Enable Client: Connection details on the product. Copy this service’s host, port and username where supplied; reveal the masked password with Show only when needed.

Use the displayed port rather than assuming the default Valkey or Redis port. Keep passwords and credential-bearing URLs out of screenshots, public posts and support messages. The DigitalOcean provider token is not the application’s Valkey password.

Configure a TLS-capable client

The module’s example uses redis-cli with --tls, the service username and a password prompt through --askpass. Follow the equivalent settings supported by your application’s client. Redis compatibility does not establish that every driver version or connection option is interchangeable.

TLS transport and certificate/hostname verification are distinct settings. Keep the client’s trust and identity checks enabled; do not bypass a connection error by switching to plaintext or disabling verification.

Use the appropriate certificate trust

DigitalOcean’s Valkey connection guide describes a publicly trusted certificate path that normally does not require downloading a separate cluster CA. The module can also offer Download CA certificate when a certificate is returned. Use the trust configuration your client and the actual endpoint require; do not treat an absent download as proof the service is broken.

Verify the application connection

Check current service state, allowed source IPv4 address, host/port, username/password and TLS trust. A Running banner or stored endpoint is not a fresh application test; provider-read failures can leave stored information visible.

A working connection does not prove write capacity or an appropriate eviction policy. Review the error alongside the client software and version. Do not recreate the service, repeatedly reset its password or change key-retention policy to diagnose an uncertain connection failure.
