How to add Kafka checkout choices in WHMCS

Use PD DigitalOcean Kafka to let clients choose a supported Region, Plan and Engine version when ordering. Keep these choices aligned with the Kafka offering you intend to sell.

Save the offering first

Open the intended product and review its provider account and defaults on Module Settings. Kafka is the fixed engine. Region and Engine version apply when a cluster is created; changing a service’s stored selection later is not a region migration or broker-version upgrade.

Generate native configurable options

  1. Open PD Modules → DigitalOcean Kafka → Products and find the intended product.
  2. Choose Generate options and read the confirmation.
  3. Inspect the assigned native option group for Region, Plan and Engine version. There is no additional High availability or broker-count choice for Kafka.
  4. Use the customer-selectable dimension controls to choose what appears, save visibility and inspect the checkout form.

Hidden dimensions normally use the product defaults. Check the saved defaults and the resulting selection as well as the visible form. The generated catalogue may use cached or fallback choices, and it does not establish capacity for every account/region combination.

Review prices and allowed changes

Set the generated option prices under System Settings → Products/Services → Configurable Options, reviewing the billing currencies and periods you offer. Storage follows the selected cluster size; this generator does not offer a separate adjustable storage dimension.

Keep creation-only choices out of a customer’s later edit flow where the billing platform allows you to control this. Do not offer an ordinary region or version edit as a live Kafka migration.

Refresh an existing group carefully

Rebuild from DigitalOcean refreshes generated choices and resets their prices after confirmation. Compatible existing identifiers are retained, but prices and existing services still need review. Saving visibility is separate and preserves prices.

After a rebuild, recheck the group, prices, defaults and checkout. Do not publish a fixed list of currently available Kafka versions from an old fallback list; review the provider’s current availability when preparing the offer.
