PD Azure MySQL for Blesta: getting started
PD Azure MySQL lets you offer Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server instances through Blesta, using Microsoft Azure. It suits MySQL applications that need a managed Azure database, with the resource linked to the customer’s service.
Before you start
Install PD Modules for Blesta first, connect the account that holds your licence, then install PD Azure MySQL from its Store. Allow the staff group that needs to use it.
You also need an Azure subscription and an app registration authorised for the database resources. Check the provider account’s permissions, available locations and capacity before enabling automatic provisioning.
Connect the account
In Settings → Company → Modules, find the installed module, choose Manage and add its account connection. Blesta calls this a module row. Keep this provider connection separate from the package settings.
Define what the customer receives
Create a package using PD Azure MySQL and review its Module Options and configurable options. Start with Region, Engine, Plan, Engine version and Storage. Together these describe the resource requested when a service is provisioned; they are not just labels on the order form.
The database runs in Azure, while the package or product defines what you offer through your billing system. Keep those two sets of settings distinct.
Choose which client controls the package exposes. If you offer configurable options, check that their values match the module’s supported choices and that the defaults describe the service you intend to sell.
Put the service into use
Add the package group to the intended order form when it is ready. Blesta creates the service before provisioning completes; check the service state and ensure the normal cron is running for subsequent updates.
Check the first service
Check the server state, firewall and database details in the service panel before connecting an application.
Creating a real service creates provider resources and can incur provider charges. Review the configuration first; use your normal controlled test process for the first provisioning rather than making an order solely to browse the settings.
