Forward one DirectAdmin email address from Blesta
Use a single-address forward when mail for one source address should reach an intended receiving mailbox. The source domain must already exist and be available to the DirectAdmin connection.
Prepare the mail route
Confirm native domain ownership, account permission and mail routing. The destination mailbox must be ready; saving a forward does not create it or establish that MX sends mail to this server.
Review existing source mailboxes, autoresponders and forwarding rules before adding another route. Avoid a loop back to the same address or an equivalent chain.
Add and test
- Open the domain’s Forwarding page and add a single-address email forward.
- Enter the complete address under Forward this mailbox.
- Enter the intended receiving address under Forward to.
- Create the forward and read back the exact source and destination.
- Test delivery and inspect the receiving mailbox or a redacted bounce.
The module form offers one destination for this module. Native DirectAdmin rules can have more than one destination, so review all existing destinations before editing or deleting a rule created elsewhere.
Diagnose the actual failure
A saved rule, correct public MX and successful message delivery are separate checks. Check whether mail reaches this server and whether an existing local rule takes precedence before changing DNS.
Removing the source alias through this module can remove the whole native alias rather than just one destination. Use the removal guide first. For unknown recipients going to one mailbox, use the catch-all guide. Keep keys and full customer messages out of support attachments.
