Create a cPanel website redirect from WHMCS
Use PD cPanel DNS to redirect visitors from a prepared cPanel domain to another URL. A DNS CNAME only changes name resolution; a website redirect is an HTTP response from the serving web infrastructure.
Check the source domain first
Confirm the account and forwarding prerequisites. DNS must send visitors to the server that handles the redirect, and HTTPS visits need a valid source certificate. The module does not provide a free-certificate service for this provider.
Review existing hosting and records before acknowledging a coexistence warning. A forwarding rule can conflict with a real website; do not use Forward anyway if it conflicts with hosting/records simply to clear a warning you have not investigated.
Add the redirect
- Open the zone’s Forwarding page and add a URL forward.
- Enter Forward this host and the complete destination under To this URL.
- Choose 301 — Permanent or 302 — Temporary for the intended move.
- Review Also forward the www version where needed.
- Create the forward, inspect its saved values and test the intended source URLs.
The cPanel adapter supports those two redirect types, not every redirect feature offered by other providers. It does not offer a separate per-path or Keep the path control.
Interpret the wildcard carefully
The shared form can label its wildcard option Forward all subdomains, but cPanel’s wildcard redirect concerns matching file/path forwarding. It does not create DNS records or prove that every subdomain has been configured. Test the exact source names and paths you need.
cPanel’s Redirects documentation explains its native behaviour. Check the actual HTTP result, destination, www handling and HTTPS separately; browsers can retain a previous permanent redirect in cache.
