PD Hosting Moves to AWS Cloud Platform

We’re excited to announce that we’re moving our hosting services to the AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud platform. As part of this move, we’re also migrating our existing customers to the new infrastructure. We split exiting clients into three groups, with the first group already completed. We’re committed to providing the latest technologies and highest level of speed and reliability to our clients, and we believe that AWS is the best platform to deliver on this promise.

We are constantly researching the newest technologies and the highest level of speed and reliability at convenient geographical locations to our clients. During the last year, we have explored services provided by the biggest cloud providers to evaluate who could meet our needs best and the AWS platform stood out. The first AWS locations, which we already use, are in London, UK; and US. All of our new customers get activated in these locations from 1st January 2023.

In this blog post, we’ll share some of the benefits of AWS and how this move will benefit our customers.

Advantages of AWS:

There are many advantages of using the AWS cloud platform, some of which include:

  1. Easier scaling and resource management: With AWS, we can launch new virtual machines much faster and more efficiently than before. Scaling resources such as CPU, RAM, and storage is also much easier. This means we can achieve the results we’re looking for with much less investment in idle resources and management overhead.
  2. Distributed storage for high data redundancy: AWS offers distributed storage, so your website data is not stored on a single physical machine. This means that your data is not lost in case the hardware on that machine fails. In the rare event where the hosting server fails, we can spin up a new virtual machine on another hosting node in our cloud space. We can simply attach the distributed storage volume to the new instance instead of the faulty one.
  3. State-of-the-art network for faster sites: AWS is known for maintaining one of the fastest and most powerful networks. This means that using their service will result in high speed for our clients’ websites. This is a significant advantage, as network connectivity problems are among the top reasons for server downtime. With the AWS network, the risk of such issues is further minimized.

Migrating to AWS:

We’re committed to making the migration process as smooth and seamless as possible for our customers. We’ll be splitting our existing customers into three groups and informing them when their hosting service will be migrated. The first group has already been informed and migrated, and we plan to migrate the second and third groups by the end of May 2023. We understand that there may be some concerns and questions around the migration process. We’ll be providing resources and support to address these as they arise.

Future Plans:

Moving to AWS is just the first step in our journey to provide the best hosting experience for our customers. We’re planning to expand our offerings in the future, including more VPS solutions with pre-installed environments, maintenance services, automated email and website migration tools, and more. We’ll keep our customers updated as these plans develop.
